A New Recipe

Standard

For those of you familiar with Shimelle’s starting point challenges, I have a new recipe challenge  at Soul Scrappers for you to create your own starting point.  For this recipe you will need:

1 sheet of 12 X 12 kraft cardstock (you can substitute any neutral background if you don’t have kraft)

3 sheets of patterned paper cut into the following dimensions (all in inches):

  • 12 X 4
  • 7 X 5
  • 5 3/4 X 6 1/4

Arrange the patterned paper anyway you like to create your own starting point and then add whatever you like.  Here’s some ideas for starting points:

And this is my finished LO:

I added a couple more scraps to look as though there were extra layers, a journal tag, supplemented some pre-made dimension stickers with punched leaves and butterflies and fussy cut the bottom right embellishments from a scrap of pp.  The papers and embellishments are all American Crafts Garden Cafe.  The journal block is Crate Paper.  Those sparkly thickers have lost their stick.  I don’t know whether to go for extra strong glue or try to machine stitch across to hold them in place.  I’m a bit nervous about the latter in case I mess up the LO and I think it would be hard to cover up if I did.

I hope you’ll join us at Soul Scrappers for this and loads more challenges.  And don’t forget that you’ve just a few more days to join the final Scrapbookers Anonymous challenge to use a map and brads.
