Two for Tea

Standard

We had a day out in Stratford recently and found a lovely tea shop.  All decked out in 1940s wartime style, with the menu inside a ration book and the waiters and waitresses all in costume. This month’s sketch at Sketchbook 365 has a tag, which made me think of wartime evacuees, so I picked some vintage style papers and got layering.

I had a few photos I wanted to scrap so I took some inspiration from Miss Smith‘s Just One sketch course (flipping a sketch to make a double page) and Julie Kirk (making a double page with different background papers):

And here they are together:

  1. What a splendid pairing and the feel is just right – the background papers reminded me of pinnies or wallpapers. That sounds like a wonderful tea shop.

  2. WOW It sounds like a marvellous place to visit! Both layouts are fabulous – and what a brilliant tip re flipping the sketch 🙂 Thanks so much for playing along with us at Sketchbook365, Ali x
