The Anonymous Alphabet – I

My friends and family know that I am not very good at remembering birthdays.  So it should come as no surprise that I ‘missed’ my blog’s first birthday.  Bloggy was 1 year old on Saturday but the Drake was here and I’d been too busy to work up a post in advance so the day came and went without a blog post.

I started this blog because I got a place on the Scrapbookers Anonymous Design Team.  SA has closed its doors and I know there are a lot of people sorry to see it go.  I have a streak of the completer finisher running through me and I like to see things through, so, having started the alphabet challenge I’d like to finish it.  Plus I’ve been having a lot of fun setting the recipe challenge at Soul Scrappers.

The idea at SA was to use stash beginning with the chosen letter, or made by a manufacturer with the chosen letter.  The subject matter being the chosen letter was optional but highly acceptable.

I’ll be posting a letter challenge every month, starting where SA left off with the letter ‘I’.  Each month I’ll ask one of my crafty bloggy friends to be a guest designer.  This month the wonderful Julie Tucker-Wolek stepped into the breach and at very short notice produced this lovely canvas using Imagine for the title and Imaginarium chipboard:

I met Julie when we both joined SA DT at the same time and she is top commenter here on the blog – she is known as the smiley girl for the volumes of smiley faces she scatters in her travels around blogland.  Her boundless energy and productivity (in terms of the sheer volume of work she produces) never cease to amaze me.  She started and ran the very popular challenge site These are a few of My Favourite Things and now designs for Nikki Sivils, Blue Moon, Helmar and Lessology. (I told you she does loads didn’t I!)

I have to say I struggled for ideas with this one.  My only stash beginning with the letter I are my Inkadinkado stamps and I’ve used them a bit lately on tags (see here and here).  But I found a butterfly I hadn’t used for a while and a little cloud by Imaginisce and inspiration struck.  I borrowed the coloured inks from a painting set I bought for Puddle Duck in Frankfurt Airport and created a couple of cards.

They are not my usual style but I think I like them all the more for that.

SA regular Lizzy Hill produced her card for the alphabet challenge a little early and was then disappointed to find the challenge wasn’t going to run.  You can see Lizzy’s card and take a tour of her scrap space here

So your challenge is to use stash beginning with the letter I, or made by a manufacturer with the letter I.  The subject matter being related to I is optional but highly desirable.  The medium is also up for grabs – cards, tags, scrapbook pages, canvases, mini albums or altered art – whatever you want.  The challenge will run from 1st to the end of the month.  Please share what you make by adding the URL for your posted project in the comments box (I’ll amend this by adding a linky tool in the near future).
